Vegetable CSA

What is a CSA? CSA stands for Community Supported Agriculture.  CSA's are a unique venture that strives to connect farms, food and people in a mutually supportive community.  CSA members pledge in advance to support a local grower for the full season and, in return, members receive shares of the produce each week of  the season.

Why Should I be a Foothill Farm CSA Member? Great Food!  Our produce is fresh, delicious, and healthy.  Our pesticide-free and nutrient rich soil allows us to produce flavorful vegetables.  Members also know exactly where their food comes from, who grows it and how it is grown.  We encourage people to inquire about our practices and to share their knowledge!

Advantages For Members:
Eat ultra-fresh food, with all the flavor and vitamin benefits
- Get exposed to new vegetables and new ways of cooking them
- Find that kids typically favor food from "their" farm, even veggies they have not eaten before
- Develop a relationship with the farm and farmer who grows your food and learn about the veggies being served to you

Advantages For Your Farmer:
- Get to spend time marketing and planning in the off season so during growing season, all attention is focused on growing your vegetables
- Receive payment early in the season, which helps the farm's cash flow
- Have the opportunity to get to know the people consuming our produce

For the 2020 season, the price of a large share will be $700, a medium share $400, and a summer share $425. We encourage our members to pay for their share in full upfront. In doing so, you will receive a 10% discount on your vegetable share if you sign up by March 15th or a 5% discount if you sign up by April 15th. Their are no discounts for egg and fruit shares. Paying upfront helps your farmer by allowing us to be able to purchase all supplies necessary before the season begins, so when the season starts, we are focusing solely on growing your veggies! We do not want the upfront payment to stop people from joining! If it is hard to make the payment upfront, we offer payment plans throughout the year. Credit card payments are accepted. We thank you for your upfront payment—it’s what makes Community Supported Agriculture work!
Your shares are picked up on Thursdays at out farm, 937 Mill Road, Lehighton, between 9am-10am or 4pm-6pm.
If these times are not able to be made, arrangements may be made with your farmer. If a pickup cannot be made for the week, it is the responsibility of the shareholder to make other arrangements to get their share for the week, either by having someone pick it up for them, or making prior arrangements with your farmer.
Member Agreement:
I have read and understand the details of Foothill Farm’s 2020 CSA. I commit to support Foothill Farm’s growing season financially from early June -late October through the purchase of a CSA share. I realize that each season is unpredictable, and despite planning, dedication, and hard work, there are many naturally occurring variables (weather, pests, etc.) that could possibly affect my share. I agree to take part in the risks and (more often) rewards involved in chemical-free, sustainable farming.
I have read and understand it is my responsibility, or that of a friend or family member, to pick up my share at the designated location and time. If I am unable to do so, I will notify my farmer and my share will be donated to a food bank or other community food program. In return, Foothill Farm will provide me with 20 consecutive weeks of seasonal, high quality, fresh produce that is grown without synthetic fertilizers or chemicals. A weekly newsletter will be e-mailed to me with exciting recipes and variety descriptions, as well as ‘happenings at the farm’. My farmer will be available throughout the season to answer questions, receive feedback, and address concerns.
